May Owens 102, Hildebrand Care Center, Canon City. She was born in Pittsburg, Kan., on Feb. 28, 1906, to a maintenance worker and a homemaker who had a large family. She completed the 10th grade, then married Samuel Owens in 1922 and they had six children, 14 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great- grandchildren. She was involved in her children's school and 4-H projects, a home extension club, and she cared for several elderly people in her home.
